This was disclosed during a sharing session between FSSA and the National Geographic Society (NGS) Senior Director (Pioneer Programme and Development) for Asia Pacific, Dr Yannick Kuehl, at the faculty, recently.
The session, themed “Opportunity to Get Fund From National Geographic Society”, was meant to enable lecturers and students to get direct information on the status of NGS’ latest research activities and projects and to know precisely the criteria for applying grants offered by NGS.
This is in line with SDG which has become a global agenda when the United Nations introduced the 17 objectives to achieve by 2030, said hte faculty in a statement.
Dr Yannick has shared about the category of grants offered by NGS apart from sharing with the participants on NGS’ background and its missions through the initiatives undertaken by the organisation like giving fund support to scientific researchers.
He also believe the session enables FSSA and NGS to form a relationship that will give mutual benefits to both in the fields of research in future.
FSSA Dean, Prof Dr Baba Musta, Deputy Dean (Research and Innovation), Dr Mohd Sani Sarjadi, and lecturers and students, including post-graduates, from various programmes were also present.
